Vaccines impact mankind everywhere. The question ought not to be who should receive them, but rather, how can everyone receive them. According to journalists writing on the importance of vaccines, “Vaccines are considered to be one of the greatest public health achievements of the last century.”(Volker Vetter, Understanding modern-day vaccines.) Vaccines have impacted global health significantly by providing a means of halting the spread of disease. The article continues on to explain how vaccines are a preemptive and extremely effective defense on disease and protect vast amounts of people. In addition to the impact they have already made, vaccines have the potential to eradicate certain preventable diseases all together. When a country reaches herd immunity, ideally through vaccination, the preventable disease is no longer able to survive or spread since it no longer has a susceptible host.
